The Omega Staff – Mechanical Engineer

The successful candidate will have the following:
B.S. in Engineering, Math, or related major. Prefer BS or MS ME.
Five plus years in mechanical engineering.
Must have experience with the configuration control, environmental testing, and military specs used in defense or space applications.  (Three plus year experience preferred).
Experience with the design and testing of precision mechanisms.
Must have familiarity (experience preferred) with computer-assisted design (CAD), preferably solid modeling. Prefer experience with computer-assisted finite-element stress analysis.

Job Description:

Perform mechanical design of electronic circuit boards and assemblies, precision machined parts, optics assemblies, test equipment, and mechanical assemblies for optical encoders, scanners, accelerometers, and other precision sensor systems.
Design tests and test equipment to support vibration testing, thermal, and vacuum testing for space and military systems.
Work in small design teams with other engineering, manufacturing and quality disciplines and as part of an engineering organization providing support with design tools, methods, and approaches.
