High-technology manufacturing has lost 28% of jobs since a 2000 employment high of 2.5 million. That’s 687,000 jobs.
SCTE-Tuck to focus on cable engineering opportunities for women
The Society of Cable Telecommunications Engineers and Tuck Executive Education at Dartmouth program will include several events designed to increase the representation of women in cable engineering during this spring’s SCTE-Tuck Executive Leadership Program at Dartmouth College. The SCTE-Tuck Executive Leadership Program will be conducted April 29 through May 4 at the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College’s Hanover, N.H., campus. The list of scheduled events includes a panel discussion with leading women cable executives and engineers, as well as a networking reception and a luncheon question-and-answer session with executive coach and author Marshall Goldsmith.
LSCS offers free Engineering Tech Assistant program with companies standing by to hire students
Lone Star College System is offering a new, free program at LSC-University Park beginning on Feb. 20 that will train students to be an engineering technician assistant in just six weeks.The free training is offered through the Lone Star Energy & Manufacturing Institute and interested applicants need to apply and be granted access. The program consists of three classes for a total of 154 contact hours.
